Reflection

All Saints day/ trip to local city grave yard

Speaking about the pop singer Natasja’s death and how sad her fans must have been.

I mention that she had a big brother and a Mum & Dad and we discuss if the were more sad than the fans or sad in a different way.

I mention that my daughters grave is close by and that I have some tea-candles in my pocket and ask if the children would like to help me light the candles and put them on her grave. I am amazed on how eager the children are… very touching.

We speak about the tree on her grave that is full of colorful plastic flowers because she loved cheerful decoration, like birthday deco, easter deco, Christmas deco and that it comfort us, ( family and friends) to be able to decorate her tree.

After we had a lot of fun looking for crazy and unusual grave stones and we paused and decorated the paper butterflies and wrote names of dear ones we have lost. Grand mothers, uncles, great grand dads but also the Cat “Mussi” and the squirrel “ship” :)

I know from parents that the trip had made an impression and that speaking about loss, continued in the homes.

We didn't have time to speak about the difference between All Saints day and Halloween ( so no story about Stingy Jack this year )

Next sunday we will speak about where God comes in….
